Dear lipa user,
we would like to inform you that our technical infrastructure partner Breez will discontinue its service, Breez SDK - Native (Greenlight Implementation), on December 31 of this year.
Because the Lightning functionality of the lipa Wallet is fully built on this infrastructure, the app will also no longer be continued.
What does this mean for you?
To ensure that you retain full control over your Bitcoin, we recommend that you withdraw all remaining Lightning funds from your lipa Wallet before December 31st. After this date, we can no longer guarantee access to any remaining balances, as the underlying technical infrastructure will no longer be operational.
What should you do now?
You can withdraw your funds directly in the app as usual. In addition to sending a Lightning payment, you can also use the “Clear Wallet” function available in the app’s settings.
We are informing you early so that you can take care of this change calmly and without time pressure.
Why is the app not being continued?
The lipa Wallet was built on the Breez SDK – Native (Greenlight Implementation). As this service is being discontinued, the app can no longer be operated in its current form as of January 2026.
Due to low user numbers, lipa has also decided not to migrate to Breez SDK - Nodeless (Liquid / Spark).
What happens next?
The lipa Wallet will remain usable in its current form until December 31st. However, there will be no further development or new version of the app.
